La résidence se trouve dans l’ancienne grange. Au rez de chaussée, un studio est équipé pour un séjour confortable avec tout ce qu’il faut pour assurer une parfaite autonomie (cuisine, salle d’eau, coucher) pour deux personnes au maximum. À l’étage – l’ancien grenier de séchage du maïs et du tabac – un atelier clair et aéré de 40m2 a été aménagé.
La rénovation a été réalisée de sorte à respecter le plus possible le caractère authentique de l’habitat original – bois, pierre et torchis – tout en offrant un confort moderne.
L’atelier à l’étage, avec ses grandes baies vitrées, peut être équipé sur demande des fournitures de base (en concertation). Le bûcher, abrité sous le même toit mais à l’air libre est un endroit idéal pour la sculpture ou les installations.
La grange donne sur la cour de l’ancienne ferme où habite le couple franco-néerlandais Bert Wils et Nathalie Le More. Ils sont les propriétaires des lieux et les créateurs de la résidence. Celle-ci permet un séjour totalement indépendant. Mais Bert et Nathalie sont volontiers à votre disposition pour tout conseil ou assistance, signaler des bonnes adresses ou pour partager un repas végétarien.
Bert Wils est artiste peintre (www.bertwils.com) et sa femme Nathalie Le More (elle-même fille de peintre, www.arlettelemore.com) est traductrice. Ils parlent néerlandais, français, anglais et allemand.
The residency is located in the old barn. The living, which is on the ground floor, features all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay (kitchen, bathroom, bed) for a maximum of two people. On the first floor (once an open space used for drying tobacco leaves and corn) is a 40 m2 light and airy studio. The barn was renovated using materials that preserve the authenticity of the structure (wood, stone and clay), without compromising on modern comfort requirements.
The studio on the second floor is equally light and can be equipped with basic artist’s materials (in consultation). Adjacent to this residency is the “bûcher” (woodshed), a high open covered workspace that is well-suited for sculpture work and/or installations.
The barn opens onto the courtyard of the old farm, where the Dutch/French couple Bert Wils and Nathalie Le More live year-round. They are the owners and creators of the residency, which is ideal for staying and working independently. Bert and Nathalie are happy to welcome guests and are pleased to provide assistance and advice, directions and a place at their table for vegetarian meals.
Bert Wils is a painter (www.bertwils.com) and his wife Nathalie Le More (whose mother was a painter www.arlettelemore.com) is a translator. They speak Dutch, French, English and German.
De studio-annex-werkruimte is in de voormalige schuur. Op de begane grond bevindt zich de studio, die is voorzien van alle gemakken voor een comfortabel verblijf (keuken, sanitair, bed) voor maximaal twee personen. Op de eerste verdieping (ooit open zolder om tabak en maïs te drogen) bevindt zich een lichte werkruimte van 40 m2. De schuur is verbouwd met materialen (hout, steen en leem) die recht doen aan de authenticiteit van de schuur, zonder de vereisten van het moderne comfort uit het oog te verliezen.
De werkruimte op de tweede verdieping is licht en voorzien van basis kunstenaarsuitrusting (in overleg).
Naast deze studio annex werkruimte bevindt zich, in de « bûcher », een hoge, overdekte maar open werkruimte die zich goed leent voor beeldhouwwerk en/of installaties.
De schuur staat aan de binnenplaats van de oude boerderij waar het Nederlandse/Franse echtpaar Bert Wils en Nathalie LeMore woont. Zij zijn de eigenaren en initiatiefnemers van deze studio-annex-werkruimte. Deze faciliteit laat zich uitstekend zelfstandig bewonen en gebruiken.
Bert en Nathalie zijn gastvrij en van harte bereid tot assistentie en advies, voor goede adressen of aanschuiven aan hun vegetarische maaltijden.
